TOWNHOUSE RENOVATION IN  MADRID

A small townhouse in need of second life was placed on our drawing board. Belonging to a protected historical colony, all the house really needs is simple care and attention to detail, much more than any radical turn over.

The house was originally designed by Enrique Pfitz in the late 1920s as one of the units belonging to the ITURBE IV Colony, commissioned by the “Cooperative Property” directed by Gregorio Iturbe, who promoted the construction of garden suburbs under the protection of the Law of Cheap Houses. The suburb was finished in 1930 following rationalistic principles. It was developed for young middle-class professionals who bought the houses for 25.000 / 30.000 pts at the time.
